Reverend Christine Durbin

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Reverend Christine Durbin on Sunday 15th March 2026

For 54 years, Christine served spirit and for the last 31 years as Reverend of Chatswood Spiritualist Church with grace, strength, devotion, and unwavering spiritual commitment. She was a guiding presence in the life of the church for decades and helped create a spiritual home where so many found connection, encouragement, healing, and development.

Many working mediums began their journey through the church Christine so lovingly nurtured. Her legacy lives on in the heart of this church, in its people, and in the spiritual foundation she worked so faithfully to build and protect.

Over recent months, Christine remained quietly supportive behind the scenes, helping guide the church through transition and change while ensuring that the essence and purpose of what she began remained central to the community it serves.

Christine will be remembered with deep love, respect, and gratitude.

We extend our heartfelt compassion to her beloved husband Malcolm, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, of whom she was so very proud.
